A little about Woodstock, IL.
Woodstock is a city located in McHenry County, Illinois. The area was originally inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Potawatomi and Miami, before European settlers arrived in the early 19th century. The town of Woodstock was founded in 1844 by Joel Johnson, who named the town after his hometown of Woodstock, Vermont.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Woodstock became an important center for manufacturing, with several large factories and mills located in the city. The town was also home to a thriving agricultural industry, with local farmers producing a variety of crops, including corn, wheat, and dairy products.
Woodstock is perhaps best known for its role in the making of the 1993 film “Groundhog Day,” which was set in the town and used many of its historic buildings and streets as filming locations.
